Political philosophy is an important way we can shape the principles that guide our society and the structures that govern them. As a citizen it is important to understand what the government is and why it is the way it is. The rules and organization of governments are a part of a long history of human civilization. Naturally government forms out of a family unit who work together to ensure their saftey and prosperity. There is only so much one family can acomplish so a family might start working with other families to form a community and so on. Forming the right principles for a family is difficult enough let alone an entire nation or the entire global order. The world is constantly changing and it is up to us as citizens to make sure our philosophies evolve and stay effective to ensure the greatest amount of peace and freedom as possible.
